How many times does DNA replicate in meiosis?

DNA replicates once in meiosis. During DNA replication, which is the first step in meiosis, every chromosome is converted into two sister chromatids.
Meiosis refers to eukaryotic cell division, which constructs gametes or sex cells from diploid cells. A gamete contains one copy of every chromosome. Two copies of every chromosome are in a diploid cell.
Meiosis is comprised of DNA replication and two successive cellular and nuclear divisions. It can be broken into two key stages: meiosis I and meiosis II. Both of them can be further divided into prophase, metaphase, anaphase and telophase stages. Most of meiosis's key processes occur during prophase I.
