The phrase "fear not" appears in the Bible over 365 times. The presence and repetition of this phrase is widely considered to be a way for Christians to remember not to fear when God is on their side.
Fear not appears in almost every book of the Bible. Fear in this sense is brought on by the enemy, Satan, and is to be given over to God through faith. The word fear itself has different meanings within the Scriptures, and there has been much debate about certain references. The phrase fear not first appears in Genesis 15:1 and last in Revelations 1:17, where Jesus says "Fear not; I am the first and the last."
