A dump truck can hold anywhere from 13 to 25 tons of gravel, based on common sizes available for commercial use. Ten-wheelers are rated to reliably hold 13 tons, whereas the largest flat-bed trucks can contain 25 tons of gravel.
There are several truck sizes in between for different loads. For example, a twelve-wheeler can hold 16 tons of gravel. Semi-end dump trucks and high side-end dump trucks can haul 21 tons of gravel. The industrial belly dump truck maxes out at 23 tons of gravel, and transfer dump trucks and Super 16's are capable of loading 24 tons of gravel.
