The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim debuted in 1961, finishing the season with a 70-91 record, which still remains the best first season record for any expansion team. Anaheim Stadium opened in 1966 with an exhibition game against the Giants. The team spent a year at Wrigley Field and four years at Dodger Stadium prior to getting its own stadium. The year 2002 was not only the first World Series Championship for the Angels, but it was also its first pennant win and World Series game.
