Maplelea dolls are a line of seven 18-inch-tall Canadian-themed dolls that represent Canada’s geographic and cultural mix. The line features characters such as Saila from Iqaluit with Inuit heritage, Taryn Brady, who is an environmentalist, and Léonie Belanger-Leblanc the hockey player. The other four are Alexi, Brianne, Jenna and Charlsea.
The Maplelea girls are created by Avonlea Traditions, Inc. Kathryn Gallagher Morton, the owner and CEO of Avonlea Traditions, Inc., founded the company in 1988. The Maplelea line of dolls was developed in 2003. Each of the Maplelea dolls comes with a journal in which she shares details about her home region and her life.
