According to the "About Us" link on their website, Ball was originally based in Buffalo, New York, where the five Ball brothers started making Mason jars in 1884. However, after a fire destroyed the factory, they relocated to Muncie, Indiana. Daleville, where the company is currently located, is a suburb of Muncie. Jarden Home Brands also owns Kerr, another leading brand in Mason jars.
