Does Massachusetts provide free public records information?
By Forinfos - 27/02/2025 - 0 comments
Massachusetts provides some public records upon request, provided they do not contain personal information. The Public Records division does not provide records of personal information, such as addresses, phone numbers, personnel files and resumes, or employee termination information.
Applying to access public records information is free, but there may be fees for copies, usually between 20 and 50 cents per page. There may be additional charges if the information requested is in a non-standard form. The Public Records Access Regulations require that the records custodian provide a written estimate of the cost of fulfilling the request if the fees are expected to exceed $10.
