What material are tires made of?

Tires are made from several different materials including rubber, steel cord, fabric cord, textile and fabric. The rubber in tires is made from a combination of materials, to help increase the traction and durability of the tire.

Tires are made from a compound rubber, which includes a special type of filler material. The frame of the tire is created with fabric and steel cord. The fabric and steel cord are woven together to support the structure of the tire. After the structure of the tire is completed it undergoes a special refining process, called calendering, to create the bond between the cords and rubber of the tires.
