What is Punchline Math?

Punchline math is a system of learning how to solve mathematical problems using riddles, according to Marcy Mathworks. The goal of punchline math is to reward the student with the answer to the jokes or puzzles.
Steve and Janis Marcy created a series of books to help students learn algebra. The idea is that each member of the group completes a part of a problem to help solve the riddle. There are also math problems that are solved by students individually. Three books that include worksheets are self-published by Steve and Janis Marcy along with an interactive DVD called “Punchline Algebra,†which was released in 2011.
