A Maytag Maxima pedestal is a platform that raises a Maxima front-load washer or dryer higher off the floor, according to the Maytag website. Raising the washer and dryer means less stooping down when loading or unloading.

Pedestals for the Maytag Maxima washer and dryer are available in two sizes, as of 2015. Model number XHP1550VW raises the appliances 15.5 inches. Model number MHP1000SQ raises the appliances 10 inches. Pedestals do not ship with the washer and dryer, and must be ordered separately. They can be ordered either through the manufacturer or through a licensed Maytag dealer. Maytag appliances are manufactured by Whirlpool Corporation.
