The Mazda B2200 specifications list its engine to have approximately 84 horsepower and 114 lb-ft. of torque. It is a 2.2-liter inline-4 engine, capable of producing up to 24 miles per gallon.
The B2200 was produced in the United States until the year 1998. Its engine features an 86 millimeter bore and 94 millimeter stroke. It produced a maximum displacement of 2,184 cubic centimeters and is the same engine used inside the Ford Probe.
The engine was also used in several other vehicles such as the Mazda 929, Mazda 626 and Mazda Mx-6. It was a single-cam variant, meaning it only used one cam to regulate intake and exhaust valves, and due to its size was able to produce good fuel economy.
