According to HealthCentral, an intrauterine pregnancy is when a baby grows inside of the uterus, or womb. The definition of intrauterine is "inside the uterus."
MedicineNet explains that a pregnancy occurs when the female body carries a developing embryo or fetus. Pregnancy is confirmed through a blood test, an ultrasound, an over-the-counter urine test or the detection of a fetal heartbeat. A full-term pregnancy consists of three trimesters that total about nine months. A due date is calculated by using the date of the female's last menstrual period. There are several early signs of pregnancy, including breast tenderness, fatigue, nausea and vomiting.
