What is meant by study skills?

According to Penn State University, study skills refer to abilities that can be learned to improve study habits. Learning these skills helps improve the ability to learn, take tests and excel academically.

By improving reading comprehension, it becomes easier to absorb information and to retain and understand it for a longer period of time. Memorization and comprehension are also important study skills that promote learning capabilities. This involves not only memorization of material, but also the ability to understand it and explain it to others.
