How do you measure reach in boxing?
By Forinfos - 22/01/2026 - 0 comments
In boxing, reach is measured by extending one arm to the side, perpendicular to the body, then measuring the distance between the armpit and the end of the fully closed fist. The boxer must remove his shirt and warm up for an accurate measurement of his reach.
According to AZCentral.com, a boxer's reach is included on his stat sheet, along with his date of birth, his record, his stance, his height and his weight. While boxing careers are unlikely to be affected by reach, a longer reach is generally considered to be an auspicious and advantageous attribute for a boxer.
