To measure the rise and inseam of men's pants, measure the distance from the bottom of the crotch to the waistline and then measure the distance from the bottom of the pant line near the ankle to the crotch seam. A common measurement for the rise of pants is about 10 inches.

Use the following steps to measure the rise and inseam for pants.

1. Stand straight with a relaxed posture

Stand with feet about hip-width apart.

2. Measure the rise

Have someone measure the distance from the bottom of the crotch to the waist.

3. Measure the inseam

Have somebody measure the distance from the very bottom of the pants straight up to the line created by the crotch seam.
