A standard queen-sized bed measures 80 inches long and 60 inches wide. Queen-sized mattresses vary in depth, with some being as little as 9 inches thick and others as thick as 16 inches or more.

Olympic queen-sized or expanded-queen sizes are also available. These queen-sized mattresses are 80 inches long but 66 inches wide, making them 6 inches wider than traditional queen-sized beds. A California queen-sized water bed is 84 inches long and 60 inches wide.

Standard queen-sized sheets are designed to fit beds that are 80 inches long and 60 inches wide with depths of no more than 15 inches. However, extra-deep-pocket sheets can accommodate queen-sized beds up to 22 inches in depth.
