What is Medicare Plan F?

By Forinfos - 24/05/2025 - 0 comments

Medicare Plan F is a supplementary insurance policy meant to cover gaps in other Medicare policies. It can only be used in conjunction with Medicare Part A or B plans as an option to provide addition coverage of specific gaps.

There are nine specific instances in which Medicare Plan F covers costs that are not covered by other Medicare plans. These include the $1,156 deductible per benefit period, hospice care coinsurance and coinsurance for additional days spent in a hospital. Medicare Plan F does not cover premium payments for those with an income high enough to qualify them to pay a premium on their Medicare Part A or B plans.
