Is WellCare Choice a Medicare plan?

WellCare Health Plans offers Medicare and Medicaid health plans as well as other managed health care services for government health care programs, according to WellCare. Although WellCare is based in Tampa, Florida, it provides health care plans nationwide, serving about four million subscribers as of 2015.

WellCare's Medicare plans offer low deductibles, monthly premiums and co-payments when visiting a primary care physician. WellCare promises to provide more benefits than standard Medicare and offers a prescription drug plan that covers brand-name and generic prescriptions. Subscribers also have access to weight loss programs and alternative medical providers at discounted rates, explains WellCare.
