What is Mercedes 4Matic?
By Forinfos - 09/12/2025 - 0 comments
Mercedes 4Matic is an all-wheel drive system designed to boost traction in slippery conditions. The first 4Matic system was launched in 1987 on the W124 series station wagons. Most of the Mercedes-Benz vehicles that feature this system have automatic transmissions.
The 4Matic has many advanced innovations that empower each wheel when the weather changes. It has four points of contact where nearly every element of steering, braking and accelerating is carried out through the four patches where the tires touch the road. Its weight distribution shifts the vehicle's weight to the front wheels when braking, acceleration shifts it to the rear, and cornering shifts it to the tires on the outside of the turn.
