Michigan both keeps a record of and holds a record for power outages. Power outages in the United States for the past 15 years can be found at InsideEnergy.org and can be sorted by state to show the list specific to the state of Michigan.
Climate Central in a recent report found that Michigan beat out the rest of the nation in number of power outages between the years of 2003 and 2012, suffering 71 significant outages in that time. According to Wikipedia, Michigan has been involved in at least four of the most significant power outages worldwide in the last 55 years, including The Northeast Blackout of 1965 and The Northeast Blackout of 2003.
