Microsoft Office is a software suite composed of applications useful in the office, workplace or school. These applications include Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook and more.
Microsoft Office was first announced in 1988, when Bill Gates described the first software suite package as containing PowerPoint, Office and Excel. The software bundle was made available for sale in 1990 and the second version was published by 1992, including the original three programs and Microsoft Mail. By 2002, Office had grown in popularity with over a billion users worldwide. As of 2014, the most recent version of Microsoft Office is Office 2013.
