What is a millipede infestation?

A millipede infestation is when an area is overcome with millipedes to the point that it becomes troublesome. Millipedes are arthropods whose bodies are made up of at least 20, and up to more than 100, different parts. Each part has two pairs of legs.

Millipedes need moisture to survive, so eliminating sources of moisture can help combat an infestation. Storing firewood away from any structures can also help combat an infestation of millipedes. Maintain window and door seals to help prevent entrance. For bad infestations, use a pesticide around the perimeter of the home or structure. Closely follow the label directions for the specific pesticide.
