What is a Miltonia orchid?
By Forinfos - 21/03/2026 - 0 comments
Miltonia orchids, also called pansy orchids, are known for their resemblance to garden pansies. They grow in warm climates and have brightly patterned petals. They can be grown indoors or in a greenhouse. They typically bloom twice a year.
Miltonia orchids can bloom for up to one month, but cut blooms last as long as any other cut flower. Bright light is needed for the orchid to bloom, but care should be taken to avoid direct sunlight.
While some orchid species require a dry period, the Miltonia orchid does best with soil that is kept moist and drains well. As the Miltonia orchid does not go dormant, it needs regular feedings with a 20-20-20 fertilizer to keep healthy and encourage more blooms.
