What is a Bichon and Maltese mix?

A Bichon and Maltese mix is called a Maltichon. These dogs are sometimes referred to simply as Bichon Maltese as well. The Bichon Frise and the Maltese are the two breeds that make up a Maltichon.

The Maltichon is not a purebred canine, but it is considered a designer hybrid. Maltichon dogs grow to 9 to 12 inches tall and weigh between 7 and 12 pounds at maturity. They are smart and obedient, which means they are easily trained. These dogs are very social and get along well with children and other animals. Maltichons do not shed, which makes them perfect pets for allergy sufferers.
