What are mini cannons used for?

Mini cannons are used for small target practice and as a novelty conversation piece. They are miniature versions of real-life American Civil War and Revolutionary War cannons. They are fully functional, 2-inch muzzle-loading cannons capable of firing a .30 caliber slingshot ball.

Mini cannons are often used as display pieces on desks. The starter kit includes a brass ramrod and three steel balls. Firework powder, black powder or Pyrodex are used to fire the cannon when the fuse is lit. Knobs on the side move the barrel up and down and adjust the aim. They are designed to shoot at small nearby targets.
