Where is the Mississippi River?

The Mississippi River runs down the mideastern United States, spanning from northern Minnesota, down to the Gulf of Mexico. It passes through several states, including Mississippi, Illinois, Louisiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, Arkansas and Iowa.

The Mississippi River is the longest river in the continent of North America, and it is also one of the longest rivers on Earth. The Mississippi watershed, which is the collection of rivers and other bodies of water that feed into the Mississippi River, covers 31 states and two Canadian provinces. The watershed notably includes the Missouri River, Arkansas River and Ohio River. Overall, the river spans over 3,710 miles from north to south.
