Who is Mitch McConnell's wife?

Mitch McConnell married Elaine Chao in 1993. They have no children together, as of 2015. The senator was formerly married to Sherrill Redmon, with whom he fathered three daughters.

From 2001 to 2009, Elaine Chao served as the U.S. Secretary of Labor under President George W. Bush. The Harvard Business School graduate, who immigrated from China at the age of 8, is the first Asian American woman ever appointed to a presidential cabinet.

Chao also served as the Peace Corp Director and president of the United Way. As of 2015, she works for a research institute, where she concentrates on employment issues and U.S. competitiveness in the global market.
