To mix fiberglass resin, mix 16 ounces of polyester resin with 1/8 ounce of methyl ethyl ketone in a clean disposable container. Color paste and wax powder additions provide color or polished finish.

In order to mix fiberglass resin, follow these steps:

  1. Preparing
    2. Begin by having polyester resin, methyl ethyl ketone, a disposable container and stirring stick. Protect hands, eyes and preparation surface.
  2. Mixing
    3. Fiberglass resin is best mixed in small batches. Pour resin in first, add methyl ethyl ketone and mix well with a stirring stick until it is the consistency of toothpaste.
  3. Finishing
    4. Add wax powder to provide resin with a polished finish or color resin with color paste. Resin hardens within 20 minutes.
