Beginning halfway through the 1972 model year, Chevrolet offered a sunroof option for the Nova line. It was also offered in 1973, but was discontinued for the 1974 model year.

The Ventura II folding sunroof was informally called "Skyroof" by consumers. It consisted of a sliding piece of fabric that was available in black, white, blue, tan and pewter, in addition to covert and green. In 1972, 349,722 Novas were manufactured, but only 6,822 were available with the Skyroof, with an additional 3,259 built in 1973. These models are highly sought-after by Nova enthusiasts, as the popular muscle car transitioned to a more economical style in the 1970s.
