As of 2014, there are more than 100,000 species of fungi found throughout the world. Most types of fungi feed on decaying material, such as plants and animals. The temperature and moisture of an area greatly affects the growth of mold. Mold can be found on foods, especially bread based products, on trees and in other moisture laden areas.
