Do moles have eyes?

Moles have eyes, but they are very small and are sometimes covered by skin or hair. The mole's eyesight and sensitivity to light control its body clock, allowing it to know the time of day and seasons.
Long thought to be blind like cavefish, which spend their lives in the dark and have no functional eyes, moles have fully developed eyes and retinas with the correct brain connections to see, according to a 2009 study at the University of Aberdeen. The moles' ability to repair the retina in this condition may hold clues to better understanding the use of stem cells in human retinal repair.
