As of January 2015, the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China is the most profitable company in the world. Apple is the second most profitable company and the most profitable in the United States.

Gazprom and China Construction Bank are the third and fourth most profitable companies in the world, and both are majority government-owned as is the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China. Exxon Mobil is the fifth most profitable company in the world and the second in the United States. Rounding out the top ten most profitable companies in the world are Samsung Electronics, Agricultural Bank of China, Bank of China, BP and Microsoft.
