Where is Mongolia?

Mongolia is located in the eastern part of Asia, landlocked between China to the west, south and east, and Russia to the north. The western part of Mongolia is just 24 miles from Kazakhstan, although the two countries don't share a border.

Mongolia's border with China is over 2,900 miles long, and its border with Russia is over 2,100 miles long. Mongolia has an area of 603,909 square miles, making it the 19th largest country in the world. As of 2014, the population of Mongolia is 2,966,294, giving it the lowest population density of any sovereign nation in the world.
