The Paignton Zoo in Devon, England, announced that it is weaning monkeys off of cultivated bananas because they contain too much sugar and not enough protein, according to the BBC. These bananas can cause gastrointestinal issues in monkeys, so the zoo is now feeding its monkeys a diet of leafy vegetables and leafy branches instead.
