Does the moon have quakes?

There is evidence that the moon is seismically active, which means it can experience the moon version of an earthquake. During the 1969 and 1972 moon landings, astronauts placed seismometers on the moon in order to allow scientists to learn more about earth's biggest natural satellite.
These instruments provided a lot of data for scientists to analyze, and the findings revealed that moonquakes occur, though for mostly different reasons than earthquakes. The seismometers picked up different kinds of moonquake, including vibrations that reverberate through the moon when it gets struck with meteorites and other relatively small space debris.
