What is a mophead hydrangea?
By Forinfos - 11/04/2026 - 0 comments
Mophead hydrangeas are hydrangea plants which produce large, ball-shaped flowers in blue and pink. They are the most popular type of hydrangea grown by home gardeners.
Mophead hydrangeas also grow in shades of purple and white or are bi-colored, with shades of pink or green. The plants grow to be two or three feet high. The flowers bloom between June and August and require full or partial sun to thrive. The plants should be grown about three inches apart in order to ensure adequate space for blooming. Mophead hydrangeas grow best in U.S. Department of Agriculture hardiness zones five to nine.
