Moths live in different countries all around the world. In the United States alone, there are over 12,000 species of moths.
The average lifespan for a moth is one year. The majority die off when the first hard frost hits the area they inhabit. Young moths stay close to their food sources which consist of fruits, seeds and plants. Adult months only require a tiny bit of nectar or other liquids to survive. Moths are typically nocturnal and are very inactive during the day. Moths find each other by using chemical senses. These senses enable to them to find mates in the dark.
