Where is Mount Kilimanjaro?

Situated inside Kilimanjaro National Park, Mount Kilimanjaro is located in the East African county of Tanzania, towards the north, near the town of Moshi. It is about a one-hour drive away from Kilimanjaro Airport.

With an elevation of 19,336 feet, it is the highest peak on the African continent, as well as the tallest free-standing mountain in the world. Despite its size, it is also one of the world's most accessible summits and attracts climbers and tourists by the thousands each year. The land surrounding the mountain is home to elephants, leopards, buffalo, antelope, primates, and many other species found only in Africa.
