According to The Richest, an online magazine, United States ambassadors are paid between $47,024 and $64,917 annually. Salaries are dependent on education, experience and location.
An ambassador with a bachelor's degree will earn more for each year that he gains experience; however, a non degree holding ambassador will require six or more years of ambassadorial experience before he can receive a pay raise.
The United States government pays for housing and rest and relaxation breaks depending on the conditions of the ambassadorial position. The government may also help offset the costs of living in more expensive zones. Other perks include free day care and tuition reimbursement, according to The Richest.
