How much area does a pallet of sod cover?

A pallet of sod covers approximately 450 square feet or 50 square yards of space, according to Quality Sod, Inc. Sod is measured in the same way as other flooring by taking measurements of the space using a tape measure, rolling wheel or laser.

Because a lawn is typically large and not uniformly shaped, it is easiest to break the space down into several smaller squares or rectangles and then multiply their individual lengths and widths. The different square feet or yards of each square or rectangle are then added together in order to obtain the total size of the lawn and determine how much sod is needed to cover the space.
