How much does a pallet weigh?

Typical wooden pallets weigh between 30 and 70 pounds depending on the type of wood, the moisture content and the size of the pallet. Plastic pallets weigh less, usually between 3 and 15 pounds. A standard 48-inch long by 40-inch wide pallet weighs between 35 and 45 pounds.

Smaller pallets, such as one that is 36 inches square, weigh nearly 30 pounds. A 48-inch square pallet is closer to 40 pounds. Standard corrugated cardboard pallets weigh nearly 19 pounds, saving cargo shipping weight in trucks and trailers. Standard wooden pallets are 6 inches thick and have a static load bearing weight of 3 tons with a 1-ton dynamic.
