The amount of money that can be made selling stock images and drawings depends on the method that the graphic artist uses to market the content. As of August 2015, iStock, a popular stock image program, offers artists a small percentage of royalties from downloads of their art.

Depending on levels of contribution to the library of images by the artist, iStock offers a different percentage of sales of downloadable illustrations. Artists can make about $5 from a single download of an illustration, according to Creative Bloq. However, this profit grows if the file is sold multiple times as different downloads to different customers.
