Green Dot prepaid cards are $4.95 to receive and load one at a local store and free-to-open online with a direct deposit. Green Dot charges a monthly fee of $5.95, which can be waived by loading over $1,000 or having 30 qualified purchases per month.

Green Dot charges $4.95 to replace a lost or stolen card and 50 cents to check the card balance at a non-Money Pass ATM. There is no fee to withdraw cash from a Money Pass ATM, but a $2.50 fee is assessed on each withdrawal from a non-Money Pass ATM, plus any charges by the ATM owner.
