Labradors 6 months and older should eat two cups of food twice a day, according to Labrador Net. The amount of food and frequency of feedings depends on the age of the dog. For example, older Labradors eat only twice a day and younger puppies eat several times a day.
Labrador puppies that are between the ages of 8 and 16 weeks typically eat around a cup of food four times a day. Once a Labrador is older than 16 weeks of age, the food is increased to a cup and a half and the feedings decreased to three times a day. Labradors tend to overeat if food intake is not monitored and "free feeding" is not recommended, according to The Labrador Site.
