On average, a male lion weighs approximately 420 pounds. The heaviest male lion that has been recorded weighed in at 600 pounds. Siberian tigers can grow to be even heavier (around 900 pounds).
Female lions are smaller than males, and usually weigh around 280 pounds. Male lions are usually around 4 feet tall, and lionesses are slightly shorter. Not including their tails, male lions are typically 6 feet to 7 feet long, with females again being slightly smaller. A lion or lioness' tail can be as much as 3 feet long. A mature lion's jaws open to 1 foot wide.
