How much money do you get in monopoly?

In the game of Monopoly, each player gets $1,500 to start. Before play begins, the banker gives each player two each of $500, $100 and $50 bills. The banker also gives out six $20 bills as well as five each of the $10, $5 and $1 bills.

Charles B. Darrow created the game in 1934. The following year, Parker Brothers bought the rights to the game from him. Since then, Monopoly has been published in over 111 countries and 43 languages. The object of the game is to become the richest player while moving around the board buying, selling, trading and renting properties.
