How much money does each person get in Monopoly?

In the Monopoly board game, each player starts with $1,500. This should be broken down into two $500 bills, two $100 bills, two $50 bills, six $20 bills, five $10 bills, five $5 bills and five $1 bills.

One player acts as the banker and accepts the responsibility for all the game's banking duties. This includes paying salaries, making loans, auctioning properties and selling houses and hotels. In addition, the banker must collect taxes, fines, loan payments and interest. When a property is sold by the bank, the banker handles the transaction. If the game becomes high-stakes and the bank no longer has any prepared bills, the banker is allowed to create money out of plain paper.
