How much does a nuclear imaging stress test cost?

The cost of a nuclear imaging stress test varies by hospital, but one test can run as high as $3,500, according to Providence Health & Services. Nuclear tests are between 80 and 90 percent accurate in most cases.
Unfortunately, nuclear imaging tests are not without risk. Many doctors and patients avoid this type of test not only because of the cost, but because it involves a risk from the radiation used in the process.
Some patients and doctors opt for more traditional treadmill testing, which is usually between 60 and 80 percent accurate. Echocardiography tests cost around $1,500 and have the same rate of accuracy as the nuclear imaging tests.
