How much oil do you put in a chocolate fountain?

Fondue fountains using 5 pounds of chocolate require approximately ½ cup of vegetable oil. Some chocolate brands, such as Sephra, do not need any oil to ensure a smooth texture.
To melt chocolate properly, begin by pouring a few pounds of chocolate chips into a microwavable bag. Next, add a reasonable amount of oil. The more cocoa butter chocolate contains, the less oil it needs. Close the bag and place it in a microwave for roughly three minutes. Check the bag throughout the heating process, and flatten any clumps as necessary. Fountain chocolate must maintain a temperature of 70 degrees Fahrenheit or more to prevent hardening.
