How much will I get paid as an E1 in Navy Boot Camp?

The seaman recruit basic pay for an E1 in the Navy is $1,532 per month as of November 2014. If the soldier remains an E1 after boot camp, he may be entitled to additional allowances depending on separation from family, deployment status and deployment location. Comprehensive health care is free.

Pay increases in the Navy come with rank instead of time until seamen reach the rank of E3, when years of service also come into play. Congress also typically authorizes an increase in pay for the military each year to keep up with the rising cost of living. The Naval benefits package also includes 30 days of paid vacation yearly and $250,000 in life insurance for $16 per month.
